List of English words

Hello my best friend Andrew! I have just received a letter from you and immediately began to write you an answer. Everything is fine with me, for example, yesterday I went to the circus with my sister and dad. Many artists performed there, but I liked the clowns the most. Although their jokes were not very funny, I was not very upset, because soon my mother would take us to the cinema to watch a comedy. Do you like to go to the circus? If you like it, write down which performance you liked the most.
When we came from the circus, we were hungry, because dad decided to take a little walk with us. He said that this way we would work up an appetite faster and we really worked it up. It's good that my mother cooked a delicious dinner and we ate everything with pleasure. It's a pity that you are now in another city and could not go to the circus with us. However, I think that when you come to visit me again, we will go not only to the circus, but also to the cinema.

And also, this week the whole family went out of town to pick mushrooms. I don’t understand why everyone around loves these slimy lumps so much, but I really like the process of picking mushrooms. My sister and I collected a large basket of mushrooms, and dad praised us and said that apparently this year is rich in mushrooms. I always like to walk in the forest, it is so beautiful, in the heat it is cool and smells good. Although care must be taken, especially for children like us, because it is so easy to get lost in a large forest. And my family and I were constantly shouting "Ay" to each other, it was very funny and I laughed a lot.

Andrey, I often remember how we played with you, and what pranks we arranged for adults. Do you remember how we played football in the yard all day long? And in winter they built snow forts and threw snowballs at each other. It is very sad for me that your mom and dad moved with you to another city and now you live very far from me. But I consider you my only and best friend, and I hope you remain that way. Soon the holidays and I expect you to come to our city again to visit me, and we will again disappear in the yard for days on end. I missed you, and you? And now we have only one thing left - to write letters to each other and share the news. You know, sometimes I even re-read your letters, the funniest moments. You only write more often, otherwise letters from you began to come less and less. Tell me about everything. I'm interested in everything! Have you made many friends? What do you do at the weekend? Did you like your new school? I'll be interested to know. Just write to me more often, and I will tell you what is happening in my life. Well, that's all ... I'll probably go to bed, because tomorrow I have to get up very early, because the first lesson we will have is literature, and if I'm late, then strict Lyudmila Ivanovna will not let me go to class. Bye! See you!

Header How to write a letter to a friend

Yes, about anything. I don’t know just in what style - “Hi, Kolka!” or "Hello, Nikolai."

The task itself is strange, because now children communicate with all their friends via the Internet - social networks. networks, messengers and so on.

As an example. Sand down where you want.

Well, you can also add that they say add me as a friend on Odnoklassniki, Vkontakte, Skype.

The moderator chose this as the best answer.

Education is education.

Post offices have not been closed yet, so schools teach children to write letters and make envelopes. - 3 years ago

I have three schoolgirls. We had to do this task three times already))) What did we write? Well, firstly, any letter begins with a greeting, then we describe some event that is relevant to us, ask how a friend is doing, sometimes describe the weather, and in the end we say goodbye. It turned out something like this letter to a friend:

» Hello, Dashulka! Finally I was going to write you a letter, because so many things have happened to me since we did not see each other!

Everything is fine with me, I graduated from the school year with a certificate of merit, so my parents gave me a bicycle, you know - it was my dream. Now I am spending my holidays with my grandparents in the countryside, there is no computer here, but there are so many interesting things! Every day I ride a bike, with my friends I go to the forest for mushrooms, I often go to the river with my grandfather, I also do my duties - in the evening I graze geese in the meadow, feed the chickens, tear grass for rabbits, help my grandmother in the kitchen. I really like it here!

And how are you doing there? Did you participate in the Young Virtuoso competition this year? How are your brothers, grown up, what do they already know how to do? Come visit us, relax, gain strength for the new academic year.

I will be waiting for you! In the meantime, see you, write! Your friend Elya.

To write a letter to a friend, you need to buy an envelope at a bookstore or post office.

Ask your friend for the address, namely:

The name of the city where the friend lives;

Street name;

House number;

Apartment number;

Postcode.

And also find out your mailing address from your parents and fill out an envelope according to this sample:

Take a notebook sheet and first of all write a greeting to your friend.

For example: Hello Kolya!

Write to Kolya what you would like to tell him.

For example: I received your letter today or I looked at the photos today. and decided to write to you, etc.

Not much to write about my life.

For example: I went for a walk with my friends today. with parents to the park, circus, etc. I got a cat and a dog. i.e. write events that you wanted to share with a friend.

The next sentence will be convenient to ask Kolya: How are you? How is study? and a couple of questions about Kolya's hobbies.

After the questions, end the letter with the following sentence: “Waiting for your answer” and write “Goodbye” or “See you”.

And write the date of the letter and your name.

You can also attach a small drawing or postcard to the letter.

In my opinion, a letter can begin with a greeting, then describe your life and the interesting things that have happened in it lately. And finally, ask a friend about his life and news.

For example, you can write a letter like this:

Hello, dear friend Yura. Summer in the village is very fun. My grandmother has a cow and every day I drink warm milk. And she also has chickens, Petya the cockerel and two cats: Matvey and Vasily. There is a river not far from my grandmother's house and I go swimming every day. I have made a lot of new friends here, we play catch-up, hide-and-seek and war games. And recently, grandfather Timofey and I went fishing and I caught a hefty carp. Also, my parents bought me a new bike and I often ride on the field road. True, I fell down once, but I will be more careful in the future.

And how are you? What do you do in your free time?

Write do not forget. Bye. Your best friend, Ruslan.

A letter to a friend should be written easily, as if writing a letter without thinking about the plot. Then check and if anything, rewrite the inaccuracies, where the break in thought turned out.

You can remember a little funny story and tell a friend in a letter how you overslept for a lesson and had to lie that you got stuck in the elevator, and the next day you really got stuck, only the teacher didn’t believe it anymore and therefore it turns out that the truth always becomes known. Here we recall the famous hero Denisk Korablev, how he poured semolina porridge out the window and thought that no one would know, but it turned out like you did with the elevator.

Write the truth, but like a real writer, embellish your story a little.

If you need to write a letter to a friend, then here you need to write about friendship, about mutual assistance. Remember, before we often wrote letters to our acquaintances and friends in other cities?

First, I thought up a beautiful greeting. Further, I remember writing to my friend about the weather, about why I am happy, about how I miss personal communication with her, about what worries me, about what I am going to do in the near future. She also asked how she was doing, what worries her, how she lives and what the weather is like in her city. At the end, I always conveyed my regards to her parents, wrote that I really looked forward to letters from her and said goodbye beautifully.

To write a letter to a friend, you will need to remember some incident or adventure that happened to you in the recent past and follow some rules for writing a letter. First, an appeal. Start your letter with a greeting and greet your friend the way you normally do in life. Then the main part. This is what you want to talk about in the letter. And the final part. Make a conclusion, ask a question that interests you to a friend and say goodbye. Remember, there are no rules when writing a letter to a friend. You can write about whatever comes to mind first.

A letter to a friend should be written in free form, allowing for an abundance of exclamation marks. Start with a greeting, then describe your latest news, end with questions to the reader, i.e. your friend. At the end, write your wishes. For example:

How long have I not seen you! I miss you - what a passion! I'm doing well, for a quarter of more than one three, you can imagine. My parents gave me a dog. How I dreamed about her for a long time. Named Barbos. He is so good and obedient! Come and see him, let's play football.

Write, see you soon, looking forward to our meeting!

To begin with, dear readers, let's define the goals of our lesson. So, we must define what a personal letter is and how it differs from a business letter, study its structure, and most importantly, learn how to write a letter to a friend in English on our own using ready-made templates.

People use letters as a way to exchange information around the world. Letters can be written to friends, relatives, acquaintances or people with whom we do not know much, for example, business partners. It is from the one to whom your letter is addressed that its belonging to business or personal correspondence depends, and the form, structure and style of writing your letter depends on its affiliation. You could familiarize yourself with the rules for writing business letters in our previous article letter in English, and now we will get acquainted with the features of writing personal letters in English.

So, friendly or personal letters, as a rule, are addressed to people with whom you personally know (friends, relatives, loved ones). The language of writing such letters may have a colloquial colloquial character. For example, pronouns of the 1st and 2nd person (I, you) are very often used. It is not excluded the use of dialect words, slang words, exclamations, interjections, vernacular, modal verbs, affectionate forms, etc. In personal letters, you can freely express your opinion, that is, a subjective assessment of any situation is not prohibited. Personal letters can be highly emotional. As you can see, friendly correspondence does not have such strict stylistic restrictions as business.

As for the structure of a personal letter in English, in form it practically does not differ from a business letter, just some points can be neglected at your discretion. You can familiarize yourself with the structure of the letter in the article “Learning to write letters in English correctly”. If you have to write a personal letter to a friend in English, for example, in an exam, then of course the form of the letter cannot be neglected.

Step-by-step letter structure with template phrases

So, a personal letter to a friend in English must necessarily include 5 points according to all the rules:

The first item is the "header" of the letter, i.e. the sender's address and date. (Heading: address and date)
The address is written in the upper right corner and has the following sequence: the house number with the name of the street, the apartment number separated by a comma. The next line is the city with postal code, the next line is the country. Do not put commas or dots.

46 Riverview Park
New York 542,210
USA
February 15th, 2008

On the next line or every other line, the date is written immediately below the address. Several spellings are possible:

May 12, 2014
May 12th, 2014
May 12, 2014
May 12th, 2014

The 2nd point is "appeal". (salutation or greeting) The appeal is written on a new line on the left. A comma is usually placed after the conversion.
Very often, the appeal begins with the word Dear + the name of the person you are writing to.

Dear Rima, Dear Karan
Dear Daddy, Dear Mammy
Dear Uncle Ray
Dear Mr. Green

Various options are possible. It all depends on who you are writing to.

My dear Jim
dearest
my darling
Or just - Hello, my dear Olya

The 3rd paragraph is the “body text of the letter”. (body/message)
The first paragraph of the body text is an introduction or opening sentence (opening sentence), where you can thank your friend for the previous letter, tell why you haven’t written for so long, or simply write that you were very happy to hear from your friend the news. Approximately it looks like this:

Have you been traveling? — Did you travel?

We are going to travel to Turkey. We are going to go to Turkey.

The fifth paragraph is the closing sentence, where you bring your message to a conclusion and can wish you success, ask for something, or express hope for something. You can also write that you are in a hurry somewhere or you have to go somewhere.

Anyway, I must go and get on with my work. “Anyway, I have to go to work.
Well, got to go now. - Well, perhaps everything.

Write back to me soon. - Answer as soon as possible.
Let me know what happens. - Let me know what's going on.
I hope this advice is of some help to you. I hope my advice will be helpful to you.

The 4th point is the final polite phrase (subscription / closing). A comma must be placed after the final phrase.

love,
best wishes,
All the best
yours,

The 5th final point is your signature. You put your signature on the next line under the final phrase without a dot.

Hi Sophie,
I'm writing this from the cutest little café in New York! Mum's been making sure we don't miss one sight in the whole city, so we've been walking practically all day. So far we've seen Times Square, Broadway, Central Park and The Plaza. I caught a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty but we're going to go and see it properly tomorrow!
The streets are super busy here and everyone looks amazing in their winter coats and hats. I had to buy mittens today! I miss being able to feel my fingers!
Hope you're enjoying your holidays.
Miss you times a million, see you back in Adelaide on the 20th!

love,
Ashley

PS: I'm bringing you back a souvenir!

The train leaves Dublin at 4.15 pm and arrives in Cork at 7.30 pm.

Hello my dear friend!

Happy New Year to you! I wish you all your wishes come true in the new year. On New Year's Eve, let your faithful friends be with you.

I miss you very much. How are you? How are you doing at school?

I'm doing well, I really like school. I especially love math and history. Our physical education lessons are very interesting. At technology lessons we make sailboats and various toys.

Holidays are coming soon. Hope to meet you. Grandma is waiting for you! Come for sure!

Your friend Simon.

Hello Misha!

How are you doing, is everything okay? I'm worried about you.

We study on the first shift. This is fine. A lot can be done in a day. The school added new subjects: folklore, civics, economics, instead of the world around it is now natural history. I like teachers. I was afraid that I would not get used to different teachers, but now I realized that I worried in vain. When one of the teachers makes comments to us, we ourselves are to blame. Studying is hard work. We have to try to cope with the pressure. True, I do not succeed in everything, but I want to be successful in all subjects.

I wish you success. Say hello to mom, Masha.

So long, Misha!

Your friend Daniil Kulev.

Hello dear Katya!

How do you live? Have not seen you for a long time! I miss you very much.

I want to tell you about a trip to the Nizhny Novgorod circus. It was very interesting. Both clowns and acrobats participated in the circus performance, there were pigs, crocodiles, monkeys. And one monkey behaved like a madman, no one could calm her down. I liked the room when the clowns were fishing. One clown caught a tattered boot, a second clown caught a small crocodile, and a third caught a large crocodile. At first I thought the crocodile was real. When the clown threw the crocodile at the audience, I realized that he was a toy. Then there was a real crocodile! I got scared when they turned it around. Amazing feeling! At the end of the performance, there was a very beautiful sight: a multi-colored fountain delighted with sparkling splashes.

After the circus, we sat for a short time at McDonald's. We all enjoyed the trip very much. This is how we live. Tell me something interesting happened to you. Write me!

See you soon, my dear Katya!

Your faithful friend Vika.

Happy Birthday! I wish you happiness, kindness, smiles!

Katya Shabaeva from 5A class MBOU Gremyachevsky secondary school writes to you. I love you because you are kind, you make children happy, you give gifts to everyone, you make everyone happy. I believe in you!

I want you to be healthy - this is my main desire. But if you don't mind, then try not to pass by my dwelling. I live in an apartment where there is no pipe that you can sneak into to us, but I will leave the door open ... I also have a gift for you: real milk and delicious cookies that my mother makes.

Dear Santa Claus! Try to fulfill my three desires: I want to perform the Split exercise with high quality, I wish everyone to be healthy, I dream of a puppy.

See you soon, good Santa Claus!

Loving you Kate.

Hello dear Santa Claus!

My name is Semyon Ershov. I study in the 5th grade of MBOU Gremyachevsky secondary school. I study well and I like to study. Most of all, I love history lessons, but in other subjects I manage to get "5". I try to learn a lot in the classroom, and from books, and I use a computer. I also go to art school. There we create beautiful drawings, study the history of fine arts. I like to do something nice for my parents so that they feel happy. I want to ask you, kind Santa Claus, so that no one in my family gets sick, so that the world is bright for all people, and I also dream of a whole basket of chocolates.

From the bottom of my heart I want to wish you a Happy New Year! Come join us for the holiday! Necessarily!

With good intentions Ershov Semyon.
