Warehouse manager is an employee who manages the work of a warehouse, organizes the reception, issuance and safety of material assets in it. If the warehouse of the enterprise is large enough and involves the storage of a large amount of equipment, such a position, as a rule, is available. In addition to him, other workers whom he supervises (loaders, storekeepers) can work in the premises. The duties of the warehouse manager at the warehouse also include knowledge of the rules for processing documents (receipt-expenditure, inventory). He bears full individual financial responsibility for the safety of the property entrusted to him, his shortage. If employees subordinate to him perform work on the acceptance for storage, processing (manufacturing), storage, accounting, release (issuance) of material assets, then collective liability may be introduced (Resolution of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation of December 31, 2002 No. 85).

Responsibilities of a production warehouse manager

The main ones are established by the United qualification handbook, approved by the Decree of the Ministry of Labor of Russia dated August 21, 1998 No. 37 (EKS). The professional standard for this position has not yet been developed, therefore, in order to determine what the duties of the warehouse manager include, one must be guided by the provisions of the CEN. According to them, he:

Is it possible to determine what is not included in the duties of the warehouse manager?

The CEN allows editing the provisions provided for in the handbook, taking into account the organization of production, labor, and the implementation of labor processes. Any provisions from the CEN can be supplemented or clarified depending on the specifics of work in a particular organization.

Job description of the head

After the duties are defined for the warehouse manager, they need to be fixed in a special document. Note that it does not use such a concept as a job description, and does not consider it a mandatory document. In practice, it is considered the main document that determines the employee's labor obligations. We advise you to develop such a document for the warehouse manager in production, this will allow you to avoid conflicts with the employee, competently organize his work, and also clearly define not only the duties of the warehouse manager in the warehouse, but also the boundaries of his liability.

The instruction usually consists of the following sections:

  • general provisions;
  • job duties of the employee;
  • employee rights;
  • employee responsibility;
  • final provisions.

Sections can be named differently by adding additional ones (for example, about interaction with subordinate employees, employees of other departments, etc.). To fill the section "Warehouse Manager - Job Responsibilities" follow the CAS, supplementing and correcting the provisions of this handbook.

Fill out the section “Rights and responsibilities of an employee” based on the general requirements of labor legislation. Usually, the rights of the warehouse manager include: the right to demand the provision of information and documents from other departments, to give instructions, etc.

In the "Responsibility" section, as a rule, there is an indication of the possibility of bringing to disciplinary and material liability.
